Hazrat Shuaib (A.S.) was a prophet from the ancient Midianite civilization (Nabi). Shuaib means “one who reveals the way.” One of the few Arabian Prophets named in the Quran is Hazrat Shuaib (A.S). He was dubbed “the eloquent preacher among the prophets” because, according to legend, he was endowed with linguistic aptitude and eloquence. In the Quran, 11 times Hazrat Shuaib (A.S) named mention in the Holy Quran.
Hazrat Shuaib (A.S) was dispatched to the Midianite village of A-Hab Al-Aykah (companions of the wood). They used to have a huge tree that they would worship. Cheating, dishonesty, and idolatry were reported to be particularly prevalent among the people of this area. Hazrat Shuaib (A.S) was urging people to follow Allah’s way and banning them from worshipping others. He warned his followers not to be dishonest in their daily lives. Mostly people did not want to listen him. The people were warned by Hazrat Shuaib (A.S) that their ignorance would lead to Midian’s ruin. When the Midianites refused to believe, they were devastated by a massive earthquake. Hazrat Shuaib (A.S) and his believing companions were saved from the tremendous retribution, according to the Quran.
One of Hazrat Shuaib’s (A.S.) reported tombs is in Jordan, 2 kilometres west of Mahis, in the Wadi Shuaib region. There is also a mausoleum in the village of Guriyeh, Shushtar, in the southwest of Iran that has been identified as Hazrat Shuaib’s tomb (A.S). The grave of Hazrat Shuaib (A.S), also known as “Nabi Shuaib,” is located in Hittin in the Lower Galilee, according to the Druze. Allah is the one and only Who knows what the real truth is.
