Salah, also known as namaz and written salat, is a type of Muslim prayer. Muslims pray standing first, then kneeling, facing the qibla, the direction of the Kaaba with regard to people praying.
Salah, sometimes written salat and referred to as namaz, are Muslim prayers. Muslims pray standing, kneeling, or sitting on the ground, facing the qibla, the direction of the Kaaba with respect to those praying, reading from the Quran and glorifying and praising Allah Almighty. Salah is made up of rakat, which are pre-determined cycles of bowing and prostrations. The amount of rakahs, or prayer units, varies according on the prayer. Wudu and ritual purity are required to offer namaz or Salat

The second piller of Islam is Salat which offers five times daily at regulated times. Fajr,, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha are the five daily prayers. Salah can be conducted individually or in groups known as jaamat. Worshippers line up in parallel rows behind a leader, called as the imam, when it is conducted in jamaat. Special prayers, such as the Friday and Eid prayers, are only done in congregation and are accompanied by two speeches delivered by the imam.

How many Rakats in Fajr Namaz?

The Fajr Namaz consist of total 4 Rakats. First offer 2 Rakats Sunnat Namaz. then 2 rakat Farz

  • Sunnah: 2 Suunat Rakats
  • Farz: 2 Farz Rakats

Zuhr Namaz

Zuhr — The Afternoon Prayer: 4 Rakat Sunnat + 4 Rakat Fard + 2 Rakat Sunnah followed by 2 Rakat Nafl. Total Rakat 12

Asr Namaz

Asr — The Evening Prayer: 4 Rakat Sunnah + 4 Rakat Fard

It is permissible to perform till the hour of Maghrib when the shadow created by an item is twice its length.

Maghrib Namaz

Maghrib — Dusk Prayer: 3 Rakat Fard + 2 Rakat Sunnah followed by 2 Rakat Nafl. Total Rakat 7

Begin at sundown and continue until dark.

Isha Namaz

Isha — Night Prayer: 4 Rakat Sunnah + 4 Rakat Fard + 2 Rakat Sunnah +2 rakat Nafl + 3 Rakat Witr + 2 Rakat Nifl. Total Rakat 17

Begin with the night and continue till daybreak.

Jumma

Jumuah — The Friday Prayer: 4 Rakat Sunnah before the Arabic Khutbah + 2 Rakat Fard + 4 Rakat Sunnah + 2 Rakat Sunnah + 2 rakat Nafl. Total Rakat 14

On Fridays, from when the sun has passed the zenith to the hour of Asr, may be done.

Tahajjud Namaz

All Muslims are encouraged (but not required) to participate in the Tahajjud, a particular Islamic prayer. After Isha, the necessary midnight prayer, and before Fajr, the mandatory morning prayer, the Tahajjud is recited. If at all feasible, perform Tahajjud between the hours of midnight and Fajr, particularly in the final portion of the night. Though the Tahajjud is not obligatory, many devoted Muslims attempt to incorporate it into their everyday lives as a form of prayer and to earn Allah’s forgiveness and redemption.

The Ishraq prayer can be used to atone for wrongdoings, but many individuals choose to chant it for the positive actions it is thought to represent. Ishraq is as simple as any other prayer and can have a significant spiritual value.
